Page Creation Problems

Can't create a page

How do I recover a deleted page?

Can I undo changes?

Answer: Yes! Press Ctrl/Cmd + Z to undo recent changes. Undo history is limited to current session.

How far back does version history go?

Answer: Depends on your plan. Check with admin. Some plans keep 30 days, others longer.

Can I export a page?

Answer: Yes, use export options (if available) to download as PDF, Markdown, or HTML.

Can I print a page?

Answer: Yes, use your browser's print function (Ctrl/Cmd + P). Consider switching to read mode first for cleaner output.

How do I make a page template?

Answer: Create a page with desired structure, then save as template (if feature is available). Or duplicate the page when you need it.

Can I password protect a page?

Answer: Use share settings to create password-protected public links. For team members, use permissions instead.

How many blocks can a page have?

Answer: No hard limit, but performance is best with under 500 blocks. Consider splitting very long pages.

Can I embed external content?

Answer: Depends on implementation. Some support embeds via URL or iframe blocks. Check available block types.

Block-Specific Questions

Why can't I format text in code blocks?

Answer: Code blocks preserve plain text formatting. Use inline code (backticks) for formatted text with code.

How do I add line breaks in a paragraph?

Answer: Press Shift + Enter for soft line break, or Enter to create new block.

Can I nest lists?

Answer: Depends on implementation. Try Tab to indent list items.

How do I change todo checkbox style?

Answer: Todo style is typically fixed. Use emoji or custom blocks for different styles.

Why is my image blurry?

Answer: Upload higher resolution image. Recommended: at least 2x display size.

Can I add captions to images?

Answer: Yes, most image blocks have a caption field below the image.

Performance Questions

Why is my page slow?

Possible causes:

  • Too many blocks (500+)
  • Large images
  • Complex formulas
  • Slow internet

Why does typing lag?

Causes:

  • Too many blocks visible

Permission Questions

Who can see my page?

Answer: Only people you've shared it with, plus workspace members (if in a workspace). Check share settings to see exact list.

Can I make a page private?

Answer: Yes, don't add it to a workspace and don't share it. Only you can see it.

How do I remove someone's access?

Answer: Open share settings, find the person, click "Remove" or change to "No access".

What's the difference between Comment and Edit permissions?

Answer:

  • Comment: Can read and add comments, but can't change content
  • Edit: Can change content, add/delete blocks, and comment

Can I see who viewed my page?

Answer: Depends on plan. Some plans show page views in analytics. Check with admin.
