Ascend AI Assistant

Overview

The Ascend AI Assistant allows you to interact with your workspace using natural language. It can answer questions, summarize content, and perform actions across your pages and databases.

1. Accessing the Assistant

  • Sidebar: Click the AI icon in the sidebar to open the chat panel.
  • Quick Action: Press Cmd+Shift+K (or configured shortcut) to open the command palette AI mode.
  • On-Page: Look for "Ask AI" buttons on specific blocks or pages.

2. Capabilities

🧠 Q&A Your Workspace

Ask questions like:

  • "Where is the marketing plan?"
  • "What did we decide about the Q3 budget?"
  • "Who is working on the mobile app?"

The assistant searches your Pages, Databases, and Inbox to find the answer.

📝 Content Generation

  • "Draft an email to the client based on these meeting notes."
  • "Summarize this long document into 3 bullet points."
  • "Create a table of action items from this text."

⚡ Actions

  • "Create a new page called 'Sprint Retro'."
  • "Set a reminder for next Tuesday."
  • "Add a task to the Engineering database."

3. Context Awareness

The assistant isn't just a chatbot; it "sees" what you see.

  • If you have a specific page open, you can ask questions about that specific page (e.g., "Summarize this").
  • It understands your current workspace context.

4. Daily Briefing

The Assistant can generate a personalized morning briefing:

  • Upcoming Events: Calendar schedule.
  • Overdue Tasks: Items from your databases.
  • Recent Updates: Changes made by your team.

5. Configuration

  • Model selection: Choose between speed (faster models) and intelligence (reasoning models).
  • Tone: Adjust the assistant's personality (Professional, Concise, Friendly).
