Overview

Databases in Ascend let you organize and track structured information in flexible tables. Think of them as powerful spreadsheets with typed columns, multiple views, and advanced features like formulas, relations, and real-time collaboration.

Quick Start

Creating Your First Database

  1. Navigate to the Databases page
  2. Click "New Database"
  3. Choose a template or start blank
  4. Give it a name
  5. Start adding your data!

Your database comes with a default "Name" column and a "Table" view ready to use.

Key Concepts

Properties (Columns): Define what type of data each column holds (text, numbers, dates, etc.)

Rows: Individual records or entries in your database

Views: Different ways to display and filter the same data

Cells: Individual data points where a row meets a column
